First, the Bad News

DRUG CZAR JOHN Walters admits his federal antidrug media campaign aimed at youths is a failure, according to the May 14 Wall Street Journal. In fact, he acknowledged, the campaign – which featured the Dixie Chicks and hip-hop singer Mary J. Blige, as well as actors posing as drug users – may have even inspired some youngsters to try marijuana. But Walters still plans to ask Congress to reauthorize funding for the five-year-old program, which has burned up $929 million in taxpayer funding so far. (Daniel Zoll)
