Thursday, Aug. 29, join filmmaker Rachel Antell as she presents her film on the militarization of the U.S.-Mexico border. Thursday, Aug. 29, several speakers who made the trip to Washington, D.C., will discuss the mobilization for reparations to African people. 'Sistahs Steppin'

Friday, Aug. 30-Saturday, Aug. 31, participate in "Sistahs Steppin' in Pride 2002," Oakland's first dyke march and a new part of the annual Oakland East Bay Pride Festival. The parade, which circles Lake Merritt, highlights the lesbian population in Oakland. The march is cosponsored by University of California's Office of the President Chapter of the UC Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex Association. Interfaith in Afghanistan

Tuesday, Sept. 3, Kristi Laughlin presents a video and reflections on the interfaith delegation, sponsored by Global Exchange, that visited Afghanistan in June. The delegation, made up of Muslims, Christians, and two women who lost siblings on Sept. 11, built bridges between the Muslim and Christian peoples and witnessed the human costs of war. Palestine discussion

Thursday, Sept. 5, join Chivvis Moore and Brian Wood, two Americans recently back from Palestine, for a discussion on causes of and solutions to the issues there.
