moon signs

Quarter moons offer a valuable breathing space for projects or personalities that have run amok. If you can pause on Tuesday and assess where you were on the full moon (Oct. 21) or the new moon (Oct. 6), you'll have a better sense of proportion. But if the pony you're riding kicks up on or around the quarter moon, figure you'll have to hang on to the reins with both hands. December goats and June crabs, you will be especially vexed this week, especially by those who want you to prove your worthiness. Pick your battles, folks.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 Waning moon in Taurus/Gemini. The moon is void of course for most of the day. This means think twice before you dial, speak, or press buttons. It's an excellent time for coming up with new methods having to do with efficiency or filing. Taureans, you may encounter resistance from folks you think are easily swayed. Geminis, if you were hard to reach, would your life be easier? Just a thought. VOC 6:14 a.m. to 4:17 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 24 Waning moon in Gemini, sun moves into Scorpio. Wonderful day for meetings to discuss how much less you have to work with (for example, budget cutting). Also good for purchasing a car (and low-balling the offer). Geminis, you may take too much initiative – don't assume, Twinsies. Pisces, are others expecting you to care? Well, they'll have to live with their disappointment, won't they?

Friday, Oct. 25 Waning moon in Gemini. The day that never got started. Not good for making long-term decisions but excellent for short-term treats ("Why yes, I will have a Rice Krispies bar, thank you"). Or breaking a habit. Geminis, are those water-sign people being vague? Are the fire and air people full of vim and no follow-through? Good thing you're around to stir everyone up.

Saturday, Oct. 26 Waning moon in Cancer. Being homebound is best, especially for Cancers. Romance for Capricorns and Aries could be problematic: Is it attention you want? Or a dark room and a remote in your hand? Scorpios, sensitivity counts, and others need to see how thoughtful you are. Virgos and Taureans, is a loved one being moody? Unless you share a birthday, the stars are favoring you over him or her today. VOC 2:01 a.m. to 4:01 a.m.

Sunday, Oct. 27 Waning moon in Cancer. Folklore suggests this lunar phase is good for making sauerkraut. And you can't have kraut without bratwurst or bratwurst without beer. All of a sudden you've invested a day in couch sitting, yet there's nothing good on the tube. Well, east or west, home is safest. Aries and Libras, expressing doubts earns you raised eyebrows. Cancers, you could be weary of carrying others (a theme in the past two days).

Monday, Oct. 28 Waning moon in Cancer/Leo. A VOC in the morning means the best-laid plans of timeliness and efficiency can be forgotten. However, later in the day is the time to make announcements, give attaboys, or ask favors. Cancers, be careful around people who compliment you too much. Leos (especially Aug. 4-8 lions), figure that knowledge is power, but so is a wad of credit cards. Buy your way to happiness today. VOC 1:22 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 29 Last quarter moon in Leo. Acting out is a theme this week, especially for Taureans and Scorpio who feel ignored or dismissed. Leos, you can save the day, although July lions, you may be self-conscious if you're dealing with a weight issue or bad hair. Sagittarians, you need to rescue another or jump into a fray you've no business being near. Aquarians, this isn't the week to look for favors in love or work, especially for you January water-carriers. Try not to get noticed.

KEY TO SALLY CRAGIN’S MOON SIGNS
This horoscope uses the passage of the moon as much as the sun to provide a forecast, and thus it’s applicable to everyone. However, the specific signs mentioned in each day’s forecast are receiving special attention from the universe. Each week all 12 signs will be mentioned, usually more than once.

When the moon is in your sun sign, you are beginning a new 28-day cycle. During that period expect really wide emotional swings. When the moon is opposite your sun sign, expect difficulties with your preferred gender, authority figures, and your better angel. When the moon is in Aries, it opposes Libra. Other oppositions are Taurus-Scorpio, Gemini-Sagittarius, Cancer-Capricorn, Leo-Aquarius, and Virgo-Pisces. The moon takes about two and a half days to cruise through a sign.

Still with me? Finally, as the moon changes sign, it will sometimes become “void of course.” This means it ceases to make major angles to planets. Consider this a null time, and try to avoid business decisions until this period is over. If you’ve got to make a move, stay skeptical. But it’s terrific for making art. All void-of-course times are pacific daylight. Visit www.moonsigns.net for more information. .
