SATURDAY MARCH 22, 10:30am - 2pm

A Roundtable Discussion Between Youth and Journalists
Hosted by KTVU, Channel 2 and the Youth Media Council

At 2 Jack London Square, Oakland
directly across from the Oakland Amtrak station
A light lunch will be provided.

This Roundtable Discussion is intended to deepen
relationships between journalists and youth organizers
from marginalized communities and encourage a new
depth in reporting on youth in a time of war.

While the news is filled with images and voices
telling the stories of impending war, Bay Area youth
are facing cutbacks, rollbacks and violence at home.
The impact of service, employment, education, and
housing shortages on Bay Area youth is colossal, and
their stories must be told. The Youth/Journalist
Roundtable is working with hundreds of journalists,
youth, and news outlets to:

-Share challenges and successes in reporting on youth
-Improve and expand coverage of youth in a time of war
-Identify pitching guidelines
-Discuss youth policy stories missing from coverage

Please attend and help shape a better future for
youth in the news. Confirm your attendance as soon
as possible with Jen at the Youth Media Council at
510-444-0640 x314.
