Wednesday, June 11, get ready for the Bush administration's agricultural technology summit in Sacramento, June 23 through 25, with the screening of "Fed Up!," a new documentary that juxtaposes the trials and tribulations of small organic farmers and the industrial agribusiness complex. Zapatista video

Friday, June 13, a new documentary filmed in Chiapas in March, Entrevistas en las cañadas portrays Zapatista leaders discussing military patrols, harassment, and difficulties in establishing health care, educational, and economic cooperatives. Plus, special musical guests Son de la Tierra, from the East Bay Center for the Performing Arts in Richmond, play traditional son jarocho music from Veracruz. Saturday, June 14, Leslie Feinberg, author of Stone Butch Blues and Transgender Warriors, details the history of sexual oppression, pioneers and heroes of the queer movement, and the role of LGBT communities in a global context. War on civil liberties

Saturday, June 14, and Monday, June 16, civil rights attorney Lynne Stewart and Father Bill O'Donnell, the latter recently released from six months in prison for protesting the School of the Americas international training facility in Georgia, present "The Dirty War on Civil Liberties and Democratic Rights" on Saturday. The event is a fundraiser for Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal. On Monday, Stewart and others present "Criminalization of Dissent and the Need to Defend Our Defenders," in response to Stewart's indictment by the Justice Department under the PATRIOT Act.
