'Bay Guardian' wins two AAN awards THE BAY GUARDIAN won awards for investigative reporting and media reporting in the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies annual journalism contest, it was announced June 25. A.C. Thompson won an honorable mention in the investigative reporting category for his writing on the case of John J. Tennison and Antoine Goff, who were sentenced to life in prison for a crime they didn't commit. Thompson's coverage of the case helped lead to the release of Tennison and Goff. Tali Woodward won second place in the media reporting category for "All in the Family" (4/30/03), an investigative report on how the Fang family nearly ruined the San Francisco Examiner. |
