Stud duds The Palace of Fine Arts hosts the first San Francisco Fashion Week (www.fashionweek-sf.com) Aug. 26 through 29, at which 15 emerging and top designers from the West Coast and New York reveal their spring 2005 lines. Event producer Erika Gessin says fashion has previously been overlooked in San Francisco, but now "San Francisco's ready for this. There are hundreds of talented local designers here." Tickets can be purchased by going to www.cityboxoffice.com or calling (415) 392-4400. (Allison Raaum) New again City landmark Sears Fine Food (439 Powell, S.F. 415-486-1160) reopened its doors after closing down last December, and it's sporting a new-old look and a new owner. After six months of renovations, Man J. Kim restored the restaurant to its original 1938 design, fixing up the hexagon-tiled floors and raising the ceiling. Still on the menu are the famous Swedish pancakes, but there are also dinner items, featuring local fresh seafood. "If it's not local, we don't serve it," Kim said. (Martin Ricard) Got a tip?
