Major savings Shopping thriftily doesn't mean you have to buy used clothing. A Miner Miracle (899 Mission, SF. 415-487-2573, www.aminermiracle.org), a not-for-profit business that helps underprivileged men and women develop a professional image for future employment, has just opened its doors to the public. It sells new clothes in a range of sizes from Ann Taylor, Koret, Dockers, Pacific Trails, Clio, and others for a mere 10 percent of the original cost. (Chellis Ying) Cooling it Just in time for Indian summer, Gelateria Naia (451 Castro, SF. 415-864-6670, www.gelaterianaia.com) has opened a new location on Castro Street. General manager Trevor Morris is excited to move in to the Castro "because it's such a great, busy neighborhood that has [had] no more ice cream since Ben and Jerry's left." The shop, whose other branches already serve up its gelato and sorbetto in Berkeley (2106 Shattuck. 510-883-1568) and Walnut Creek (1245 North Broadway. 925-943-1905), operates out of the storefront recently vacated by the frozen-dessert juggernaut.
