Circle J, R.I.P.

A few years ago, Sy sketched up Those Fucking Unicorns, a utopian vision of uncensored horny behavior. Next came Track Ponies, in which the sex and the commentary got a bit rougher. Now the local artist presents a third bestial booklet, and it's safe to say that Exxxtinction: The 1st Known Circle Jirk lives up to the high standards set by its predecessors, adding a new array of wild positions, odd noises (whewff, hooawgg, and g-lorff are three examples), and unbridled carnality to Sy's world. As the booklet notes, "polishing eggs was a constant chore" for the "real hot and large" beasts of long ago, but that still didn't stop them from finding the time to get themselves off – to the degree that they stopped getting it on. The timing of Exxxtinction's publication is eerie: It arrives just as SF's Circle J club prepares to close its doors for good. Needles and Pens, 483 14th St., SF. (415) 255-1534. (Johnny Ray Huston)
