Noodles INDIE POP Talk about a band bio the official Noodles Web site not only includes a comprehensive list of each band member's personal loves ("European style toilet") and hates ("Car outstripped by scene that is not absolute necessity" and "Vellus hair of faces"), but also provides each member's blood type, which might come in handy, as the syrupy-sweet melodies of this Japanese, all-female trio are a diabetic's worst nightmare. Don't be fooled, however; the Noodles aren't all Pocky Sticks and Pochacco they really do rock out with guitar-driven sass and fervor, à la their self-proclaimed influences: the Pixies and the Breeders. Opening for the Noodles are the Stereo Future, a rock-electronica quartet out of Seattle, along with local indie pop heroes the Invisible Cities and Goh Nakamura. (Jenny Miyasaki) NOODLES Cafe du Nord, Tues/7, 9 p.m. 2170 Market, SF. $10. (415) 861-5016, www.cafedunord.com |
