Have another

It's March 3, and I am very hungover after a night of art and free drinks. It's nice having bartender friends when you have no money.

Anyway, the art. You should go to Fifty24SF to see the work of Basco. The 20-year-old Chilean artist has covered one wall of the gallery with bright, painted, one-foot-square wallpaper samples. The work is somewhat familiar but definitely worth checking out when you're around Haight and Fillmore. At 111 Minna, there was the opening of an exhibit featuring work by Brazilian artist Alexandre Orion, who stencils characters on the walls of his native São Paulo and photographs people passing and interacting with them. Very original stuff. Go down to 111 Minna, have a drink, and check it out. It'll make you happy. *
