Here some truth for you Cindy. The common denominator in the Volunteer Enlisted Army is bad parentage. There are anomalies, but most of the people I met in the service were long motivation and short on guidance. That’s how they (and I) got there.

It says nothing good about our society, but it’s true.

Your son volunteered to serve. He volunteered to serve in the Army. He volunteered to serve in the front row, not the backrow. He died.

That’s the risk of being in the military. A risk we all live with.

Especially, you should not assign yourself the moral voice of veterans. You are not.

I have read the account of your son’s death. He bravely volunteered to join a relief effort, during battle. He was a mechanic. He did not have to go, but he chooses to volunteer for combat. He deserves a better memory for his efforts. He, not you, was heroic in those efforts.

Cindy $heehan is a disgrace. Whether you are pro-war or anti-war, one thing that both sides of the issue can agree on is that she only cares about herself, and not her brave son's ultimate sacrifice. Americans have the right to free speech, but free speech also requires sophistication, which $heehan clearly lacks. Leaders need to be criticized, so long as the criticism is constructive. The gutter talk which $heehan spews is an insult to free speech.

Yes, it is sad that she lost her son, and I'm sorry she had to experience what she went through. But since her days protesting on the Bush ranch, the only thing she is concerned about is profiting from her son's death. I wonder how much of the funds raised for her Congressional run actually went to her campaign. She is no different from those war-profiteers she criticizes. Its funny that Cindy got a percentage of the vote (17%) lower than Bush's national approval rating (22%), and she was running in an anti-war city. By the way, how is that impeachment thing going? You all can say what you want about Cindy Sheehan, but she is one of the most grounded people I have met. I speak as a Vietnam veteran, and I agree with her that the war in Iraq was unwarranted. Sure young men and women run off and join the military, mis-guided or not, but that does not absolve the politicians that start the unneeded wars. You all can go on believeing that Iraq was necessary, a haven for Al-Queda, a home to WMDs, but you are deluding yourselves in doing so. Thank you Cindy for continuing your struggle. May this murderous empire go the way of empires past and may the good people of the United States repent for all of the murder and pain their government has caused in their name. Then we can get on with living the true ideals we believe in, in peace.

Some people like to point out that our troops are "volunteers". Technically that's true but I tend to think of most of them as conscripted by poverty.

Many of these young people are idealistic and hope that by serving their country they may reap some educational benefits as well. A true win/win.

What many don't realize is these wonderful young people are serving the corporate interests that were the driving force behind getting 'our' political leaders elected.

Every soldier who's wounded, every soldier who dies in Iraq and/or Afghanistan, dies for nothing. Nothing other than to occupy these countrys and control their resources.

The wars in the Middle East are immoral, illegal, and are true war crimes. My fervent hope is to see those of this administration, and any others complicit in these wars tried for war crimes.

Cindy, it's so painful to think about and imagine the depth of your loss. My heart goes out to you. And I thank you for your tremendous strength and courage.
