In June 2007, the same folks threw this party I think at Etiquette. I wrote to them! They wrote back! It was informative!

Hey Alex, it's Marke B, the clubs writer for the SF Bay Guardian. I've been writing a popular clubs column for the past three years called Super Ego, and love that you've hacked my name! I'm getting flooded with emails asking if this is my club ... I may even have to come and write a column about it heh (although I think I'll be too busy with Pride stuff to come to the June one) -- just make sure you keep up the quality so I don't look bad, ok?

Thanks for hitting us back. We thought a while about this name and you definitely came up when we were deciding to use it. The name came from club Ego in LA and Club ID here in SF and we kinda conceived the idea as a Freudian joke of sorts, mocking the other clubs. Ideas from jokes become realities with my group of friends and thus Club Super Ego. i'm not sure what direction this club will go in, but I hope people enjoy it since that's all we're really setting out to do.

Damn -- I was hoping it was all a shameless play for promotion and my scattered attention. Kid Hack and I never met, because the party, which was supposed to be monthly, soon stopped. But now it's back! It looks interesting, but ... weird! And who is this Freud person? Stay tuned! I'll be at the Treasure Island fest all weekend, so I don't think I'll make this party either. BTW -- check out our cover story coming out this Wednesday. Kim Chun and I go head to head on Justice and the electro scene. Sonic Reducer vs. Super Ego! Rawk.
