Lots of talk about who the new SF Redevelopment Agency chief will be after Marcia Rosen announced (in terse terms) her resignation, which sounds awfully suspect. (Whenever you hear "resigned to pursue new opportunities" think: Canned for political reasons.)
One persistent rumor is that Mayor Newsom wants an African American to head Redevelopment, at a time when the agency is under fire in Bayview- Hunters Point. Some folks on the Wall suggest Sophie Maxwell, but please: Running an agency isn't her thing.
We shall see.

Putting Sophie Maxwell in charge of the Redevelopment Agency would be the most classic case imaginable of putting the fox in charge of the hen house.
Maxwell has routinely screwed over her own constituency in her support of the Redevelopment Agency and its toxic gentrifying projects, as well as other corporate and polluting debacles like Home Depot deal, and the proposed natural gas combustion turbine power plant to be placed in the Bayview; this when she knows full well that the City is on the verge of quickly building several hundred megawatts of renewable electricity capacity under the Community Choice energy project, which will make the natural gas power plant completely unnecessary.
