Great, a year ago this guy was running through the streets of San Francisco with his anarchist friends destroying property, now he wants our votes? He gives liberal politics a bad name.

uh, actually susan, a year ago josh was locked in a federal detention facility because of a stand he took based on his journalistic principles, not "running through the streets" with friends. and during the event i believe you are referring to, josh was videotaping protestors as a citizen journalist. if you have some evidence of josh destroying property, please present it. otherwise, please refrain from making unsubstantiated, slanderous comments. josh has never been accused of destroying any property. if perhaps, you think that just because someone is an anarchist that he/she is therefore a vandal, then i implore you to do a little more research. you might be quite surprised and interested in what you learn.

Actually, Josh was in prison to protect YOUR rights, Susan, as guaranteed under the Constitution to protect free speech and a free press.
He was never accused of any crime, much less convicted of a crime. There is no federal shield law to protect journalists and any citizen can be imprisoned for 18 months for non-cooperation with a grand jury, even one that may have been basically on a witch hunt for protestors.
I suggest you do some research and get your facts straight.

for your information Andy, (and Josh's mom), you get your facts straight. Wolf himself admitted to being an anarchist on his website (he took this particular information down I'm sure for his 'run for office') and also admitted to marching with the anarchist group who were being investigated for the destruction of public property. As for Wolf's 'Journalistic Principles' you would have to, at some point, contribute to a 'journalistic' piece of work to be considered a journalist and as much as I don't want to get into that argument, google wolf and you will see he's not published any original work. (regurgitating others work on CNET doesn't count).
Wolf is just another typical wannabe liberal journalist/blogger who's too lazy to put the work in. He couldn't make it as journalist so he thought he'd use his 15 minutes of fame to run for major. Problem is the good citizens of San Francisco weren't buying it, he couldn't raise the money to qualify, so he actually used his own money so he could stay in the spotlight. This guy doesn't care about others, its all about him, if he did care he would have used his exposure (and money) to further the cause of the independent journalist.
And my previous comment of ' a year ago' was a figure of speech. The only reason he's out of jail is he cut a deal with the government, turned over the tapes, sold out his 'friends' and his so called principles. Sure he'd make a good candidate for Major, were not that stupid.

As a fellow candidate, I think josh is an articulate young man. I admire his intent, but this current race is about "style vs. substance" and what the City REALLY needs. He has made a statement in which he proposed succession for San Francisco. He should be made aware of, and to consider that Lincoln dealt with the Vallandigham issue by running him off to Canada for sedition. In these present times of strife with a near equal level of social upheaval over habeas corpus it might not be the best use of a bright young man to be incarcerated for ANY circumstances when he can only serve the people by being available to them to "buy" in and do some good from the inside like in SLC Punk......

The city of San Francisco needs someone with a track record. They don't have to be an experienced politician but they do need to show the voters they have been successful at something or at least been consistent with their views. This Wolf guy doesn't meet any of these criteria... a 4 minute appearance on 'The Colbert Show' doesn't count.
