Those poor RomaniansI'm surprised that this blogger is the only one who seems to have picked up on the NBC announcers' astonishing comments that the Romanian gymnastics team would have been better off if the coach was still being mean and harsh to the girls.
In the days of Nadia Comaneci, "there would have been no hugs" for a performer who fell off the balance beam," the sportscasters said after a disappointing performance.
That's right: Beat and abuse the children, and they'll do much better in prime time. Thanks, NBC.
