speaker.gif The Chron notices Prop. H -- when it loses

By Tim Redmond

Isn't it interesting that the Chronicle, which mostly ignored the Clean Energy Act when it was on the ballot, suddenly gives it a big headline -- lead story on the local page -- when PG&E beats it?

Ya think the result might have been different if the daily had covered the issue all along like this and reported on PG&E's big-money lies? Ya think?

Mike:

I think you meant Prop H, but reguardless I am pretty upset that it didn't pass. San Francisco is only to become a softer version of itself in the years to come. Newsom continues to push for expensive housing, bringing in more rich, "soft" democrats that won't vote against the status quo, that buy the line of BS that PG&E flooded the city with, and that won't educate themselves on ballot measures.

I hope I am wrong; but when the fabric of this city is being pushed out the back door to make room for huge market rate housing developments, it is hard to look favorably on the path we are headed. Hopefully a progressive board will keep the pressure on, and we can get past "blank check" lies.
