Stand with Ross at a major rally Thursday noon at City Hall

The Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi forces put out a call to action Wednesday to mobilize their supporters for a show of force at a noon rally at City Hall on Thursday.

The rally is scheduled to be across Polk Street from the City Hall entrance because they fear that their opponents will be holding a rally on the City Hall steps with a sound system.

The possibility of dueling rallies comes as the Ethics Commission is set to hear closing arguments on Thursday in a fact-finding hearing in the Mirkarimi removal case.

Mirkarimi’s rally is the latest event in an accelerating grassroots effort by his supporters to put pressure on the Ethics Commission and the Board of Supervisors who will have the ultimate decision on whether Mirkarimi stays or goes as sheriff.

I particularly like the statement of the National Lawyers Guild on Mirkarimi: http://www.nlgsf.org/news/statement-suspension-sf-sheriff-ross-mirkarimi...

What a fiasco! But good for business at Chris Daly's Buck Tavern. I imagine the progs will get tanked before their wife batter lovefest.

You folks are supporting a wife-beater now? Just because he throws some bones in your direction, you give up all semblance of morality?

He physically hurt his wife. She was afraid of him and wanted to make the video recording to use in a custody battle. There was a reason she was afraid of him.

This guy doesn't belong in a public office. He should be fired, and also the Chief of SFFD who did similar things.

wife-batterer has been a right-wing figure, or even a moderate, the SFBG would be baying for his blood.

But he's a "progressive", so it's OK, apparently.

It's really never going to stop...

Scheduled for noon on Thursday? Middle of the work day? How about taking pass on this not-so-exciting rally and get a fucking job. Jesus, man... Or at least look for a job.

The dude roughed up his wife - probably just a little, maybe a lot, but most of all *THIS IS THE WORST FUCKING RALLYING POINT OF ALL TIME*. You guys ever looked around and thought, "Gee, why do we keep losing?". I don't know, maybe cause of shit like this?? Ya' think?

You really are incapable of self reflection. The entire movement is incapable of it. In short, you suck at promoting yourselves really, really bad.

This was fun to type. Enjoy the rally, dorks.

Thanks Bruce,
I'll aim to be there.

Regarding the NLG statement it comes short of two items:

For centuries there has been a standard of law that a wife did not have to testify against her husband. In the case of the video, captured by a fake attorney, and released as evidence, violates the precedence. The video becomes a mockery of that standard.

Then there is the distribution of 'evidence' that is captured under cover of fraud. The neighbor/attorney has some explaining to do. I would not like to see a world where attorney-client privilege can be abused by political machinations. The Judge also has to explain to the public how this violation can be excused.

Mark Sanchez, Chris Daly and Tony Hall are not guilty either yet they were all pilloried and defamed by the machine for not playing ball with power.

Ed Jew is guilty, but if he'd been in with "The City Family," he'd still be in office rather than a jail cell today as people like Mohammed Nuru have gotten away with worse with a pass from the corrupt DA.

Or he'll kick your ass! (But only if you're a woman.)

As a 30 year resident, taxpayer, and voter in San Francisco, I strongly believe Ross should not be Sheriff. Not only because he bruised his wife and pleaded guilty to false imprisonment, but because he has placed his own financial interests, and his own political ambitions, ahead of the best interests of the City and County of San Francisco. His dogged insistence on publicly dragging himself, his wife, their child, and the public at large, through the mud, demonstrates a flagrant lack of good judgment and concern for the best interests of this city. San Francisco derserves better. I hope he is removed.

or sit on Eliana's face. The choice is yours, San Francisco.
