>>ANTIQUING IN THE DAMP This rainy weekend may be the perfect time to check out Hayes Valley's new curiousity shop, Reliquary, holding it's grand opening party at 5 p.m. today. Toddle past after work (with your cutest brolly in tow, of course) to check out the shop's handmade Afghani dresses and antique Zippo lighters. Bonus: the shop's Tumblr tipped us off to amazing afterlife art: a photo series of the turquoise, pink, and cardinal mineral deposits that have grown off tins of cremated ashes found in the Oregon asylum where One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was filmed.

>>THREE VEILS TO THE WIND You're probably already green around your St. Patrick's Day gills -- maybe it's the perfect time to rustle up a bridal gown, and a wee bit more liver to damage, for this Saturday's Brides of March dash around the city. The raucous, open-to-all annual event is the Santarchy of hetero privilege, so let's get sloppy-ironic and "WOOOOO" like a bachelorette.Read more »

>>1. DEVIL'S FOOD Well, why the hell not overlay a map of Mission cupcakeries with one of Mission gangs? Either it's a statement on encroaching gentrification -- or it's giving us a craving for a Norteño with cinnamon sprinkles.

>>SHE WANTS TO BE WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE For years Ariel Soto has been documenting her fashion finds found while hitting the streets of San Francisco on sfbg.com. She's finally compiled her satorial spreads into a book, and will be giving sneak peaks of it to the lucky trendoids that find their way to her photo show at Density tomorrow, from 7-9 p.m. We'll be in attendance to see if our off-shoulder velour onesie made it into her best-of pics – and of course, to check for Herald and Biko. >>1. LEVANTA, GENTE! Apparently we're not the only students dipping into our beer funds to pay for classes – shit is hitting the fan again on the University of Puerto Rico campus, where the boricuas that shut down 11 university branches last spring are now fighting a new $800 student fee that kept 10 percent of their classmates home this term. Here in our country we're still sitting on our asses more or less, but it's the winter of si se puede (translated into Arabic, French, and Berber) – start marching to beat of the global drum at the Bay's world solidarity for PR event, tomorrow (Fri/11) at 4:30 p.m. at the 24th street BART station. Live plena and bomba music included.

>>1. RADIO 1 "There's a robin singing/ his familiar tune again/ and all at once I'm clinging/ to the kiss of June again." Writing about Bay radio this week put us in a wistful mood, reminding us of KABL 960 AM (ding! ding!), the local golden oldies and big band station that was our sweet refuge from the shrieking dial of the 1990s. We wept when the station abruptly shut down in 2004, after 45 years of broadcasting classic Rat Pack, moony '30s and '40s standards, and a whole heapin helpin' of Rosemary Clooney. Lo and behold, through the magic of the gossamer Web, KABL lives again, and you can stream it! Dapper dinner parties, here you come.

>>1. PETA HOPS We had no idea that Anchor Steam is vegan. Now we can throw back a case and pet our potbellied pig, Sir Skrumpkins, guilt- and irony-free. (Apparently many beers use animal gelatins for filtration.)

Each day, our staff picks five (or so) things we think might interest you

>>MONKEY MAN We can count on one hand the email newsletters we get that are an actual thrill to see sitting unopened in our inbox, and Kirk Lombard's is one of them. Lombard knows every. Thing. There is to know about Bay Area fishes (he's a world champion monkeyface eel fisherman and runs urban angling classes outta ForageSF that are an absolute gas to attend): identifying them, catching them sustainably, eating them, respecting their majesty. He's got a dope blog, but his recent March newsletter clued us into these aquatic happenings: the spirinchus starski is jumpin', California halibut season is starting (rent a kayak, Lombard says, for optimal fishing of these guys), and a list of items you might not guess would make servicible monkeyface eel fishing poles: a paint-roller extender or golf course flag.
