The California primary -- the big one, the one between Clinton and Obama -- was over so long ago we've almost forgotten it. And when the state Legislature decided to make California more important by moving the presidential race up several months, it left alone the rest of the 2008 primary ballot, which includes some critical races. So we're going back to the ballot again, this time to choose candidates for state Assembly and state Senate, to choose judges in both San Francisco and the East Bay, to choose Oakland City Council and School Board members and to decide on several major ballot measures. The race that's getting the most press is the Carole Migden-Mark Leno-Joe Nation faceoff, but there are also interesting primaries in the East Bay. And then there's Prop. 98, the heinous landlord-backed measure that would end rent control in California. There's a lot on the ballot -- CLICK HERE FOR OUR COMPLETE ENDORSEMENTS.
