Yes. Finally ending decades of knuckle-biting speculation, ice skater Johnny Weir came out today(ish) -- just in time for the release of his new book and new single! He scores a belated Lamebow Award. Watch him unveil his new song "Dirty Love" in Flint, Michigan last month if you dare.
Strutting his stuff as the leather parade marshall in last year's Pride festivities, Steve Ward no doubt had many thoughts relating to the thriving kink community that cavorted about him. But one of those was surely that people need a guide to this crazy wonderland. After all, many of us crave a good spanking at the hand of an experienced master -- or vice versa -- but often that urge has trouble translating readily into one's role in the sex community.
Luckily, now we have a guide. Ward is organizing a class on Tues/11 entitled “The Crooked Path: Carving out your niche in the BDSM Communities,” a one-time course that will explore the difference in roles in the BDSM community from dungeon volunteers to leaders of events, and to those that adopt leather as a lifestyle versus those that do it on the studded side. The sociology of kink? Perhaps – give it a look to learn more about your sensual stylings. And hey, what's the rest of all this? Oh, just another week of sexy SF events. Read more »

So Jerry Brown wants to go back to the days before Prop. 13. He wants to do what a lot of people say, in retrospect, he should have done in 1978: Leave local government with the responsibility for all those things that property taxes used to fund.
Renewing ourselves with Right Brian Performancelab and Ween cover band Golden Eel
I spent my New Year’s Eve basically riding around in circles from shut-down party to shut-down party. (Let’s hear it for that War on Fun!) But I’m a big believer in the symbolic do-over that the first week of the year offers up as a recompense for the things left undone over the last one. Looking back and yet forward, Right Brian Performancelab’s one night reprise of September’s “The Elephant in the Room” served as a good example of how to straddle the line between past accomplishments and future ambitions. After a four-year parenting hiatus, Performancelab’s John Baumann and Jennifer Gwirtz’ reentry into the hybrid arts scene combined movement, text, shadow, and song into a piece both playful and poignant.
Last night’s dramatic eight-hour Board of Supervisors meeting, at which six supervisors suddenly came together around naming City Administrator Ed Lee to succeed Gavin Newsom as mayor, was a classic case of backroom dealing making, the full results of which the public still doesn’t know. And it is those unknowns that have progressives rightfully pissed off and distrustful of the choice. Read more »
Late at night, a bit of common sense at the board. After Supervisors David Campos, John Avalos and Ross Mirkarimi made the same basic point -- that none of them had had a chance to talk to Ed Lee about the job, that Lee wasn't even in town right now and that it was crazy to vote for a mayoral candidate who hasn't been part of any process -- six supervisors, including Sophie Maxwell, voted for a continuance until Friday, Jan. 7th at 3 pm. So it will be another crazy three days trying to figure all this out.
Is not just that he's the candidate of the conservatives on the board; I don't even know at this point how to describe his political inclinations, and Eric Mar thinks he's got progressive credentials (from the past, though, not from anything recent.) The problem is that we don't have any idea how he would handle any of the central issues facing the city, starting with the budget mess.Read more »
Bevan Dufty emerged from his meeting in the mayor's office to say he was ready to vote for Ed Lee. The deal was cut; we don't know what it is, but that's what happened. And Sup. Chris Daly is ballistic.Read more »
The Board of Supervisors has gone into recess with a split vote on either Ed Lee or Mike Hennessey as interim mayor. One supervisors have voted no on both nominees -- and now holds the power to decide who the next mayor will be.
And Bevan Dufty, the wing vote, along with Sophie Maxwell, was just seen walking into the mayor's office.Read more »

I've always fantasized about girls kicking me in the balls. I have always secretly desired it, especially women or girls wearing sexy boots. I have always had a thrill for women dominating men. When I would watch the TV show V, I would dream of Diana kicking Mike Donovan in the balls with her sexy stiletto boots. She is one of many women I would have liked to have been kicked by. What causes men to like it? Why would us guys enjoy such pain and agony?
