Typical Hummer owner

By Steven T. Jones
A local Hummer owner apparently just read my Governor Hummer piece from last year and sent me this e-mail.

Don't be jealous that you cant afford a HUMMER douche bag
I couldn't help but respond, triggering the following e-mail exchange that seems to speak volumes about the mentality of the people who buy and drive these things.

You're awfully sensitive for a Hummer owner, but you still have their trademark hostility and inability to make a reasonable argument. You must feel like a very big man behind the wheel. Of course, if you were really a man then you'd be off in Iraq, driving a real humvee and fighting for all the oil that you insist on wasting. You're right, I'm jealous, so very jealous of your pathological inability to take responsibility for your actions. It must be very freeing.

I am in Iraq, driving a real hummer, for the Lt. Colonel, the XO for our platoon. We got mortar fire today, what did you do???? And I also have one at home. If you think the war is about oil, then you are as shallow as your comments. I hope you are as comfortable in your office chair as I am in my cot asshole. Its people like you that undermine everything we are fighting for.
Thank you,
Eric

So then you're both an idiot and a liar. You aren't in Iraq, you're simply a techie with a Hummer who will be back in your cubicle at FTF Technologies on Monday. I just checked. And I'll make sure to follow up with your bosses so they know how their employees are using their company e-mail.

I was in the original desert storm. Look it up. Guys like you make me so mad for you hatred for the war and what it is for. I believe we are there to finish what we weren't able to do in 91.

Just because I am not there now my brother is. I take personal offence to your remarks. He is there as what I described earlier. I am a patriot and a hero. And so is my brother. You are a sideline recipient of what we have provided to you. Enjoy your freedom, for free.
Thank you,
Eric

Nice try, Hummer boy, but you've already proven yourself to be a liar. Good luck at work on Monday.

Ok, gl with all that. What I said is true. Maybe someday you can afford one.
Thank you,
Eric
