Duck! It's the Blue Angels!

My poor dog will be hiding under the table when I get home, hyperventilating. I'm trying to make phone calls -- and I feel like I'm in a war zone. I know, I know -- it's fleet week and we support the troops and an expensive, dangerous, ostentatious display of military might should make us all feel better.

But I'm not feeling it.

I like a noisy event as much as anyone else. I'm all for street fairs, music in the parks, random shouting ... it's all good. This is a big city.

But do we really have to have Navy jets buzzing over us for several days? Is this a good way to spend our tax dollars? Does a city where JROTC is a huge issue need to celebrate what's really primarily a military recruiting event?

Or am I just jealous because they won't let me fly one?

Like the JROTC vote the people who complain would probably lose, then they would just try and get their anyway, while complaining that the voters were duped.

“We have to be careful not to allow this to get any legitimacy,” he said, adding “I’m taking this seriously in that I’m old enough to remember what happened in the 1960s when the left-wing took to the streets and somehow the media glorified them and it ended up shaping policy. We can’t allow that to happen.”

Remember in the 70's and 80's the air shows that would come to Moffett Field NAS, the Blue Angels were the stars of the show. We stood on roofs, fences to watch them. Sometimes we went to the air show, we sat down and watched them fly over the field, what a sight. Still love watching them, got to meet a few of them in the past. Most kids look up to them, shining jets, the roar, hearing them speak about flying. The beauty of being in the sky, flying at fast rates of speed. The Blue Angels will hold a special place in the heart, so will the Navy and the days of Moffett Field NAS. I am not for them flying over or thur San Francisco skyline or city, tthe roar bounceing off the buildings was not fun, but it was exciting to see one of them fly by in a office building, but i think most were scared out of their minds

I love them and support them in every way possible except when they threaten the people of SF with blinding TERROR.
I think most would agree.
