Tim Redmond has lost all credibility.

At this point, folks like Andrea Shorter and Joyce Newstat (who is a longtime friend and ally) have more than explanation needed. They owe all of us an apology for this campaign and providing cover to special interests. Beyond that, they owe an apology for using domestic violence as nothing more than a sham cover for other interests.

I am disappointed in Joyce more than I can say, and Andrea ought to step out of the way of real work on behalf of victims of domestic violence.

Why do these billionaires hate Latinas so?

I don't like to see the big money flowing in either. But please. Olague is no freedom fighter or populist firebrand. She IS the big money. She has already herself taken the maximum allowable contribution from Conway and many of his ilk. Nice how things work out so at the very end of a tough race she can run against the big money after having taken the big money. Why all these never-ending efforts to rally voters around Christina Olague? She's not even endorsed by the Guardian. And what has she ever done for us?

I live in D5. I liked and supported Ross Mirkarimi when he was Supervisor. Ross worked hard and treated people fairly. He was responsive to neighborhood issues and concerns. And his office was always very willing to get deep into the nuts and bolts of things. From what I've seen, Christina Olague is nothing but a conniving self-promoter. Before she was appointed by Ed Lee she had zero presence in the District. And since then she has not sought input from neighborhoods. She rewards supporters and punishes opponents. She pays no mind to the existing networks of people who have been working on issues for years. Her vision (if it can even be called that) for government is the people on top making decisions and imposing rules on their subjects. That is probably what Willie Brown, Rose Pak, and Ed Lee find so attractive about her. They are peas in a pod.

But, hey, if she's all that stands between us and a PG&E theocracy, then let's all man the barricades!

I'm supporting Thea Selby. She's clean, honest, smart, and hard-working and seems dedicated to the idea of public service and representing the neighborhoods. But there are other decent candidates too. I've enjoyed listening to Andrew Resignato, Daniel Everett, and Hope Johnson; they've added to the debate. John Rizzo is serious and knowledgeable and would be a solid Supervisor; too bad he seems to have given up. Julian Davis has articulated a compelling big-picture vision of a city for sale and appointment. But what do Christina Olague and London Breed give us? They are two sides of the same bad coin--petty, vindictive, ego-driven and all too ready to represent big money and the powers that be. No wonder they ache to run against each other.

Oh, and can we get someone else's picture up there for a change. At this point I'd take just about anyone. Pick a card, any card.

Never heard about Mirkarimi buying a TIC. If true, sure points to his hypocripsy. I'm a political radical. The so-called "progressive" leadership has almost always left me cold. I liked Ammiano when he was my supervisor in District 9. Too bad, he didn't beat Willie Brown. Wish he wasn't a Democrat. Campos, not so much. Daly lost me when he sponsored the progressive convention to find a candidate to run against Newsom, promising to run himself if no one else emerged. Then he didn't run as he promised he would. I guess he didn't want to risk losing badly. His immaturity (F word every meeting) turned off a lot of people. I supported Gonzalez for mayor. I voted for him for VP as Nader's running mate in 2008. Now, he's left the Greens and joined the 1% in scapegoating public sector workers and their generally meager pensions for the great crisis of late stage finance capitalism. That's enough for now.

...but does it say it was paid for by San Francisco Women for Accountability and a Responsible Supervisor Opposing Christina Olague 2012? (Ugh, that name. I support their efforts against Olague, but couldn't they have come up with something better than that?)
